Oh, and as for the Erdrick thing, in the original Final Fantasy game, there was a tombstone that says something like "Here lies Erdrick" and I think that Square did this as a bit of a jab at Enix who were rivals at the time. If memory serves me correctly, after Square and Enix merged, they released updated versions and instead said "Here lies Link". I figured that this is just a nod to that. It would also be tough to incorporate the characters of Final Fantasy as they had no canonical names, as far as I know. They are just the warriors of light and the player names them before the start of the quest.

Yeah, this wouldn't be able to be run on the original hardware. Even if you could fit the new assets into a cart, the hardware would likely not be able to render all of the additional graphics to the larger screen. The game only renders so many tiles and adding the additional tiles that are not rendered because that content would be off the screen I imagine would be far beyond the original hardware's capabilities. That said, this does look like a very fun remake.

I can't use any of the magic in this game. It doesn't respond to select button. When I go into the options and change the button, it just doesn't recognize the command. WTF?

Cucco spell allows you to down and up thrust with chicken. And it doesn't revert back to link when you exit the screen. And if you beat the first quest with cucco you get to see zelda kiss a chicken. 😂

how does one get ahold of this to play?

I wonder what makes these video game creators take a different route know part one was great. The first Zelda top view is great. Then part 2 they went with 2D sideways. I love this game by the way I have it for my GameCube. Banjo tooie took a different approach as well. Zelda Majora's mask also took a different route with the 3 day thing. You know the saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. All in all I love Majora's mask, the adventure of link and banjo tooie. I have all 3 of those games and I play them till this day 🎮🎮

You should have gotten all the gold slimes, they would have given you the best upgrade in the game next to red ring and red fairy! Also make a visit to Kings Tomb next time after getting the book of mudora, and try to get level 9 magic as well - the bonuses are insane! Oh, and the left bridgekeeper's hut has a little something for you as well 👌

You probably figured it out by now but whenever monsters are walking across it's not death water, other than those vertical fish guys.

4:00:20 there is many ideas from the first game to help with version... slime farming for blue potions (for example). There is items you are missing. () I hope you look for them. Level 8 for sword/magic/health was max in first game... hmm... push harder --> lvl 9... more hidden heart pieces/magic bottles fragments --> 9 bars red/white Clean thunderbird/dark link kills... but ?!?! You didn't finish the game... try to look for more (maybe in the future).
